    • Just eight months after his second knee surgery and with help from board-certified orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Theodore Macey, Terry Bruce, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve, was able to complete the Marine Corps Marathon.

Terry's detailed patient experience, which can be found here, is a true marvel and an inspiration to anyone facing obstacles to their goals.

    • At 68, after serving his country, recovering from five bypasses, back surgery, and two knee surgeries, Desert Storm veteran, grandfather and volunteer Charles “Terry” Bruce finished the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of 2019.

In 2011, Terry had five bypasses. He says, “When I was going through my heart procedure, I had nobody to come and tell me I was going to be alright and that I was still going to be able to do things. I thought I was done.”

    • As the orthopaedic providers in the region, the doctors and staff at Orthopaedic Associates have proudly provided orthopaedic care for our athletic community and their fans since 1988. As members of this community, where we live and raise our own families, we have dedicated our time, resources, and expertise to support all athletes in this region.

    • Allowing a patient’s healthy bone, cartilage and ligaments to remain intact, a partial knee replacement provides patients with a more natural-feeling knee than a total knee replacement.

“Patients who undergo a partial, or unicompartmental, knee replacement experience quicker recoveries and less pain than those who undergo a total knee replacement,” explains Dr. Theodore I. Macey, knee surgeon at Orthopaedic Associates. “Patients also have the ability to bend their knee shortly after the surgery.”
