Radiography Education Program

In 2012, we began our partnership with Northwest Florida State College’s two-year radiography program. As one of their teaching facilities, we serve as a preceptor for three of their second-year radiography students each semester.

As a preceptor, our role is to provide these students with hands-on experiences under the supervision of our licensed radiographers. The students rotate weekly through our offices in Fort Walton Beach and Destin and are provided with opportunities to practice and observe what they have learned in class.

Our partnership with Northwest Florida State College’s radiography program allows us to not only support our community but to also help instill the highest standards of medical education into the future of medicine. In the last three years, the radiography program has had a 100% pass rate on the boards for first-attempt students.

This partnership has also allowed us the opportunity to bring new talent to our team as we have grown throughout the years. Each year since 2012, we have proudly added a graduate of the program to our team of experts.

What are some of the tasks the students do while at the office?

Under the supervision of a licensed radiographer, the students are provided with opportunities to apply what they have learned in class. Our staff provides instructions on radiographic procedures as well as education on anatomy and medical and radiographic terminology. Additionally, the students get to apply critical thinking as well as classroom skills in a field setting.
