New Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine Surgeon Joins Orthopaedic Associates
A new sports medicine specialist has joined Orthopaedic Associates, the region’s most comprehensive orthopaedic practice since 1988. Jack E. McKay, M.D., began seeing patients at the practice on Sept. 1, bringing with him advanced expertise in the latest solutions for bone, joint and muscle injuries affecting athletes and active individuals. Patients seeking specialized care for orthopaedic and sports-related injuries are encouraged to call 850-863-2153 to schedule a safe appointment in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville or Crestview.
As a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon, Dr. McKay is highly skilled at providing specialized care for bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. His expertise includes minimally invasive joint repair procedures including elbow, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, which uses a small camera and miniature surgical tools to provide precision and quicker recoveries. He also offers advanced nonsurgical solutions, such as platelet-rich plasma injections, to propel the healing of soft-tissue injuries in the joints.
“We are excited to have Dr. McKay join Orthopaedic Associates as part of our dedication to meeting the growing needs of our community,” says Practice President Dr. Mark Tenholder. “He is an extensively trained subspecialist who shares our commitment to keeping our community healthy and active, and we are proud to welcome him to our team.”
Dr. McKay earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency training at LSU Health in New Orleans. Following residency, Dr. McKay underwent additional training through a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Andrews Research & Education Foundation in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
